After Googlingįor answers, shutting down Cortana as much as I could the problem was still occurring so I uninstalled the Google plug-in and repeated what I had been doing earlier. This morning I opened a file to view some data then try to closed it to open another and there was a really long pause before it would close the file. Much of it but it was seemly taking longer and effecting every file I would try to close. I was seeing the "Unresponsive." message when Excel was closing files for what seems like a few weeks or more. If you have feedback for TechNet Subscriber Support, I uninstalled the Google Drive Plug-in for Office and now things are back to normal.
